They were married in 1986 and have been blessed with three wonderful daughters. Jeff is a passionate communicator whose love for the Lord and love for people comes out in every sermon he preaches. He thinks the Christian life is the most exciting life of all. He also thinks being boring is a terrible sin.

Life Verse: "Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Matt joined FBC in the fall of 2005 after spending four years as the High School Pastor at Champion Forest Baptist Church in Houston. He was born and raised in the great state of Ohio and is a big Ohio State Buckeyes fan. In 2000, Matt graduated from the University of Mobile after playing four years of baseball with a degree in Education and History. The plan was to be involved in students’ lives by teaching and coaching. But the Lord had other ideas. After spending a summer being a student ministry intern at First Baptist Church Jonesboro, the Lord moved Matt's interest from teaching history to God's grace erasing history.

Grace loves kids! As a minister of Preschool Education, she has the joy and privilege of ministering to preschoolers, their older siblings, their parents and their grandparents. Her responsibilities include Preschool Sunday School and Mission Friends Leadership, Volunteers In Preschool,Childcare Activities, Vacation Bible School, Mother's Day Out, Weekday Preschool, and Various Special Events for Preschoolers.

Grace recieved her Master of Arts Degree in Childhood Education at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. She is amazed at the way God has led her as she served churches in Mississippi and Louisiana. Every step of the way He was preparing her for the next step. The step to Texarkana was a big one, and she continues to love every bit of it. Her hobbies include reading, camping, and traveling. She loves her Minature Pinscher, Rudi, who is the head of the household.

Grace wants her FBC babies to learn to trust that they will be cared for and loved when at church. She says this is the same kind of trust that will lead them to accept Jesus Christ when they are older and able to understand the Gospel message. For now, they know (as we all do) that "Church is a Happy Place"!        This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

Stephanie started working with children as a teenager, and every career opportunity since has led straight back to kids! She considers it a privilege to be able to use her degree in education to impart her passion for Christ to the children of FBC as well as to children in the surrounding areas. Her goal is to provide the environment and opportunity for every child to understand the love that Jesus has for them and then to accept Him as their own. She prays that in addition, they will begin to grow in the wisdom of Christ and desire to make a difference in Him in Texarkana. Stephanie’s ministry is a family effort. Her husband, Robert, and sons, Rhett and Cross, support and share in every endeavor making sure all lighting, sound, and technical bases are covered. bobby

In 2006, Bobby moved to Texarkana from Buffalo, New York, with his wife, Melanie, and their daughter, Amelia. Though they’d never visited Texarkana, the Greenwoods took a step of faith and were greatly surprised and blessed by the amazing friendships that awaited them.  Another blessing came for Bobby and Mel on November 23, 2006 (Thanksgiving Day) with the arrival of their second daughter, Eva.  Bobby joined our team as a Student Ministry intern in the summer of 2006 and came on full time as the Middle School Minister in 2007.  They purchased their first home on the Arkansas side and are slowly becoming Razorback fans.  Bobby graduated from Texas A&M Texarkana and is currently enrolled in Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where he is seeking a Master of Divinity.

Bobby has two main goals in his ministry: to see students come to the amazing realization of God’s love for them and to help them discover an abundant life in Christ when they walk with Him.  This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

jan

Jan thought twenty-six years as a television news anchor/reporter with KSLA-TV (Shreveport) and WWL TV (New Orleans) were rewarding because she had the opportunity nightly to expose the injustices of our world to hundreds of thousands of viewers. However, it was not until she began producing and editing with From His Heart Ministries and the First Baptist Church TV Ministry that she felt she was truly fulfilling God's purpose for her life.

Here at FBC, she heads up the FBC TV Ministry and is the executive producer of First Baptist’s regional broadcast programming. You’ll also see her on the Sunday morning “Around FBC in 90 Seconds” video clip. In addition to her work at FBC, Jan has been the anchor of Texarkana’s HomeTown Magazine Television Program for 12 years.

She and her husband, Bob, have been married 22 years and have a beautiful daughter, Morgan.
