The purpose of the Worship Ministry of FBC Texarkana is to lead people in Spirit-filled and life-changing worship. Our goal is to lead people into the presence of God and to have them respond to God in a way that causes them to make life-changing decisions. We understand that worship should be not only a Sunday event but a transformational lifestyle.
The FBC Worship Ministry provides an opportunity for believers to use their giftedness as an act of worship and an act of spiritual leadership. Those gifts may be expressed through a variety of vocal and/or instrumental musical opportunities. We hope that you will prayerfully consider using your gift on one or more of our worship teams.
At FBC, the Worship Choir is the largest worship leading team. This group is made up of people from all walks of life and varying degrees of talent and experience. The one thing that all members have in common is a sincere desire to use their gifts to worship God through music.
We gather each week to worship, laugh, cry, encourage and challenge each other. The Worship Choir is open to anyone of high school age or older who has a genuine relationship with the Lord and wants to worship through singing. An audition is NOT required.
Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings from 7:05pm-8:15pm in the choir room.
Band and Orchestra
The FBC Band and Orchestra is a group of gifted musicians who lead worship each week with the Worship Choir as well as by themselves. This group is made up of people with a wide variety of musical experience, education, and preference but the common bond is a desire to offer their gifts to the Lord through music. The instrumental ministry of FBC also extends throughout the community as they play music for a number of special events.
The Worship Band is the musical backbone of the FBC Worship Ministry. The band utilizes drums, bass, guitars, and keyboards in order to lead worship with our other worship teams. The ability to read music is not required but is extremely helpful. The ability to read chord charts IS required. A formal audition is not required to be on this team, however, there will be an opportunity to make sure that the necessary skill level is available.
The Orchestra consists of woodwind, brass, string & percussion instruments. Members of the Orchestra must be at least 16 or older. FBC Orchestra plays in wide variety musical styles, therefore it is necessary to have the ability to read music and sight-read. An audition is required in order to be a part of this team. To schedule your audition or for more information, you may contact the music office
